From towering offices to tree-lined boulevards, Gurugram’s skyline mirrors the vision of Rajiv Singh, Chairman of DLF Limited, India’s largest real estate company

For Singh, building cities is not just business — it’s a mission to shape how India lives, works, and dreams.“Real estate is not about buildings,” he says. “It’s about shaping lives and creating legacies.”
From Legacy to Leadership
Born into the family that built DLF, Rajiv Singh inherited more than a business — he inherited a vision. His grandfather Chaudhary Raghvendra Singh founded DLF in 1946, and his father K. P. Singh transformed it into a real estate powerhouse. A graduate of MIT, Rajiv brought global perspective and structure to the company, taking over as Chairman in 2020 with a focus on modernisation and sustainability.
Building the Gurgaon Dream
Once barren farmland, Gurgaon — now Gurugram — is the embodiment of Singh’s belief in integrated living. From DLF Cyber City to CyberHub and luxury residences, his projects blend design, sustainability, and community, turning the city into a global symbol of India’s economic aspiration.
Navigating Challenges with Clarity
The 2008 financial crisis tested DLF’s resilience, but Singh’s steady leadership and strategic restructuring — including divesting non-core assets — helped stabilise the company. His philosophy remains firm, “In real estate, timing is everything — you must know when to build, when to pause, and when to let go.”
Growth Rooted in Purpose
Under Singh’s guidance, DLF pivoted towards a strong rental income model and sustainable growth. Today, the company is valued at over ₹2 lakh crore, with record sales of ₹21,223 crore in FY25. Yet, Singh calls these numbers “milestones, not destinations,” emphasising growth that is both meaningful and responsible.
A Leader with Vision and Values
Despite his success — and recognition as India’s richest real estate entrepreneur with a family wealth of ₹1.24 lakh crore — Rajiv Singh remains grounded. His leadership blends precision with empathy, always focused on the human experience behind every project.
“The true success of a project,” he says, “is when people feel they belong — when homes foster memories, and offices inspire creation.”
