A thoughtful dialogue on balancing innovation with responsibility in modern healthcare
At the AI Impact Summit 2026, the session AI in Healthcare: Navigating Innovation, Ethics, and Regulatory Compliance, brought together a distinguished panel of clinicians and AI researchers to explore how artificial intelligence can be integrated into healthcare systems with integrity and rigour.
Organised in collaboration with UiT The Arctic University of Norway and led by Prof. Dilip K. Prasad, the discussion was introduced by Dr. Arif Ahmed Sekh and reflected a shared commitment to advancing innovation without compromising ethical and clinical standards.

Rather than celebrating technology for its own sake, the conversation centred on what truly matters: clinical validation, transparent regulatory pathways, ethical guardrails, and the indispensable role of human oversight. AI, the panel agreed, must augment clinical judgement — never replace it.
The dialogue also opened doors to international collaboration, including forthcoming initiatives such as the AI4Fertility workshop in Tromsø, Norway — signalling a growing global effort to align innovation with responsibility.
The strong audience engagement underscored a clear message: the future of AI in healthcare will not be defined by algorithms alone, but by interdisciplinary collaboration, trust, and a steadfast commitment to patient welfare.
