In a move that quietly rethinks how student wellness is approached in India, student-focused gig platform TimbuckDo has partnered with insurance-tech company CoverSure to introduce a student-first wellness plan priced at just INR 299 per year. Rather than positioning healthcare as a luxury or an emergency-only expense, the collaboration aims to make preventive and day-to-day medical support a practical part of student life.

For TimbuckDo, which began as a platform helping college students access flexible earning opportunities, the partnership signals a broader evolution. The company is steadily expanding into a more rounded ecosystem that supports not just income, but also the well-being and everyday realities of student life.

The wellness plan has been designed specifically for college students across India, with a focus on simplicity, transparency and genuine affordability. There are no hidden charges, and access is intended to be straightforward—an important consideration for students balancing academics, part-time work and limited finances.

At the core of the offering are unlimited online consultations with certified general practitioners, supported by on-call access to real doctors for immediate concerns. Recognising India’s linguistic diversity, the plan includes multi-language consultations, allowing students to speak to doctors in the language they are most comfortable using. Beyond general medical advice, the plan also covers holistic wellness areas such as stress, sleep, nutrition and mental health.

Students enrolled in the plan receive free follow-ups and e-prescriptions, along with tangible cost benefits such as discounts of up to 22% on medicines via platforms including Apollo, 1mg and PharmEasy, and up to 30% off diagnostic tests at NABL-accredited laboratories. The emphasis throughout is on predictability and ease, with healthcare positioned as something students can rely on rather than postpone.

Reflecting on the collaboration, Mythri Kumar, Co-founder of TimbuckDo, said, “This plan reflects what students genuinely need: simple, accessible, dependable healthcare and wellness that understands their lifestyle. CoverSure shares our vision of student well-being, and together, we’re making preventive and everyday healthcare more accessible than ever before. At just INR 299 a year, we’re ensuring every student, regardless of background, can put their health first.”

Apoorv Sharma Prasad, Co-founder of TimbuckDo, echoed this sentiment, adding, “Students shouldn’t have to choose between affordability and wellness. With this partnership, we’re closing that gap. Our goal has always been to empower students not just with opportunities to earn, but with the support they need to stay healthy, confident, and secure.”

CoverSure, founded in 2023, has positioned itself as a consumer-first insurance platform focused on transparency and informed decision-making rather than aggressive product selling. For the company, the partnership aligns with its broader aim of building trust and clarity around protection among younger users.

Saurabh Vijayvergia, CEO & Founder of CoverSure, noted, “Students deserve healthcare that is as agile and ambitious as they are. Together, we’re not only redefining accessible, preventive, student-first healthcare—we’re also building greater trust in insurance and wellness among young Indians.”

As India’s student population grows increasingly conscious of mental health, preventive care and financial independence, collaborations such as this reflect a shift in how businesses are approaching the student economy—not as a future market, but as one with immediate and evolving needs.
