Two awards, one clear message: India’s EV conversation is widening—and VinFast is firmly part of it

In a market crowded with ambition and noise, VinFast has taken a measured step forward—one that didn’t rely on hype, but on outcomes. At the Auto Excellence Awards 2026, the brand walked away with two significant recognitions: Emerging EV Brand of the Year and Value for Money EV of the Year for the VF 6.
The awards, instituted by CarBike360 in association with CMV360, are known for spotlighting vehicles and brands that translate innovation into everyday relevance. That context makes VinFast’s double win particularly telling—it signals not just promise, but traction.
What seems to have worked in VinFast’s favour is clarity. Its recognition as Emerging EV Brand of the Year reflects a market entry strategy that has been deliberate rather than aggressive. From localisation plans to long-term ecosystem thinking, the brand has positioned itself as an EV player looking beyond first impressions toward sustained presence in India’s evolving mobility narrative.
The jury’s nod to the VF 6 as Value for Money EV of the Year further underlines that approach. In a segment where electric SUVs are often polarised between aspirational pricing and practical compromises, the VF 6 stood out for striking balance. Designed with urban users and first-time EV adopters in mind, it brings together contemporary styling, usable range, intuitive technology, and strong safety fundamentals—without placing electric mobility out of reach.
This focus on tiered offerings is also evident in VinFast’s broader portfolio. While the VF 6 anchors accessibility, the VF 7 adds a premium layer to the lineup, signalling the brand’s intent to cater to varied expectations rather than a single buyer profile.
Reflecting on the recognition, Tapan Ghosh, CEO, VinFast India, said, “We are honoured to receive these recognitions at the Auto Excellence Awards 2026. Being named Emerging EV Brand of the Year validates our vision and long-term commitment to India, while the VF 6 winning Value for Money EV of the Year underscores our focus on delivering thoughtfully designed electric vehicles that truly resonate with Indian consumers. These awards motivate us to continue raising the bar in our journey towards sustainable mobility.”
From the jury’s perspective, the decision was rooted in substance. Ashish Masih, Editor-in-Chief, CarBike360, noted, “VinFast has made a confident and promising entry into the Indian EV market. The brand’s clear strategy, coupled with products like the VF 6 that prioritizes value, usability, and technology, makes VinFast a deserving winner in both categories this year.”
Beyond trophies, the larger story lies in intent. With investments spanning manufacturing, retail presence, service infrastructure, charging solutions, and customer support, VinFast appears to be building patiently—aware that India’s EV shift will be incremental, not instant.
In an industry often driven by big claims, VinFast’s latest recognition suggests something quieter but more enduring: credibility earned, step by step.
